The International Student Support Team (ISST) help international students with:
- Student immigration & student visas
- Travel advice during the holidays
- Relative and dependant visits
- Working in the UK during and after your studies
- General welfare support
- Settling into the UK and adapting to a new culture

International Student Induction Events
We appreciate that there is a lot of information to take in as a newly arrived international student so we have organised a variety of induction events on each campus to help you settle in.
Please attend the on campus 鈥�International Student Support Drop In鈥� sessions and 鈥楲ife in the UK鈥� sessions, which will give you an opportunity to ask questions.

The UWSFinance team are also available to assist students with tuition fee enquiries - check at the Student Hub for details of on campus drop in sessions and other ways to speak to the Finance team.

Life in the UK (online support session)
Is this your first time living in the UK? If so, come along to this fun, interactive introduction to life in the UK online session.
Meet other new international students and understand and discuss what to expect about living, working and socialising in the UK. This is relevant to all newly arrived international students.

Adjust to UK Culture (Free online course)
International Students who have never lived or studied in the UK before may benefit from a free online course designed to help international students adjust to UK culture and offer support and guidance to help students manage stress, tackle negative thoughts.

Free walk 'n talk tour of Paisley
Wednesday 9 September, 2 鈥� 3pm, admission on a first come, first served basis.
Meet at 1.45pm at the entrance to the Student Hub, Paisley campus.
Meet other UWSinternational students and discover more about Paisley and the surrounding buildings close to 糖心原创. An opportunity to talk to newly arrived international students in an informal setting and meet the International Student Support team who are here to help you during your student journey.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. The walking tour will last approximately 30- 45 minutes.
FREE ticketed event - Paisley Cultural and Music Tour

Meet at 1.15pm inside the main entrance to UWS(Witherspoon building), next to reception
The Paisley Music Trail is a guided walking tour exploring Paisley's rich social history, musical heritage, iconic artists and cultural landmarks which makes for a great introduction to Scotland's Town of the Year.
The tour will last approximately one hour and follows a compact route through the historic town centre, taking in Paisley Town Hall, its magnificent Abbey, the Anchor Mill building and the murals of Browns Lane.
From its trailblazing folk and punk scenes to Paolo Nutini鈥檚 big break and the enduring legacy of Gerry Rafferty, Paisley has always punched above its weight musically. On this tour, you will also hear about a legendary folk club and a cult techno club, 18th century poets and 15th century music, Scotland鈥檚 first rock鈥檔鈥檙oll riot and the connection between Paisley鈥檚 historic thread industry and a certain Minneapolis music legend.

FREE tour of the Sma' Shot Cottages (Paisley)
Wednesday 23 September, 2 鈥� 3pm, admission on a first come, first served basis.
Meet at 1.45pm at the entrance to the Student Hub, Paisley campus.
Meet other UWSinternational students and explore a typical weaver's cottage plus find out about the history of the famous paisley pattern - the Sma' Shot Cottages are just 5 minutes walk from UWSPaisley Campus and Storie Street residences.
